CYC2 is a small company that did not wait for a specific legal obligation before calculating its carbon footprint.
For two years, with the idea of creating the Carbolean service, we have logically decided to implement it to measure our own emissions. We therefore calculate our own carbon balance expressed in tonnes of CO2. Even though the company is small, we have almost as many suppliers as a large one. We already have four for vehicles including electric ones that can be charged at the office, at home or at public terminals. Furthermore, we also consume electricity, gas for heating, water, we produce a little waste and we occasionally travel by train or plane.
« Our carbon footprint is decreasing thanks to the electrification of the car fleet, but it will be necessary to continue exploring other offsetting avenues or methods via investments in renewable energy production », says Frédéric Witmeur, CEO of CYC2.
« This is an absolutely necessary measure, regardless of the size of the company", ,” the CEO emphasises! "First of all, to find out where you are and what it costs. Then, in our case, to promote our Carbolean service, to answer questions from customers who are increasingly aware of the subject. All companies have to understand and anticipate what the law will in any case one day require. »
Companies that are not aware of climate issues risk losing the interest of young talent and losing a real competitive advantage.
